Why is it that people want to talk to me the moment I put on the headphones to listen to some good music? But otherwise they don't even seem to acknowledge my presence??

Very much happens with me as well. They find great pleasure in talking when I listen to some nice music...otherwise yes, they are happy to ignore.
And nice to note that you'll keep updating-looking forward to it :)
